App: PDF Compressor

Effective date: 16 May 2026

Last updated: 16 May 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the PDF Compressor mobile application (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use it. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

PDF Compressor is developed by Sooryanarayanan (“the Developer”). For any questions about this policy, contact us at apps.narayananb@gmail.com.

2. What the App does

The App lets you:

All document processing happens locally on your device. Your files are never uploaded to our servers, and we do not have access to their contents.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Files you select

When you pick a document or image, Android grants the App temporary access to that file through the system file picker (Storage Access Framework). The App reads the file in memory, produces the compressed or converted output, and writes the output back to the location you choose. We do not retain copies, do not transmit your files, and do not request broad storage permissions.

3.2 Analytics data (Firebase Analytics)

The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used in aggregate. Firebase may automatically collect:

This data is processed by Google. We do not link it to your name, email, or any personal identifier. For details on how Google processes this data, see Google’s Privacy & Terms and the Firebase Privacy Information pages.

3.3 Network permissions

The App requests INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions. These are used only by Firebase Analytics to send anonymous usage data. The App does not transmit your documents or images over the network.

4. Information we do NOT collect

5. Permissions used by the App

Permission Purpose
INTERNET Send anonymous analytics events to Firebase.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE Allow Firebase to determine network availability before sending events.

6. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data retention

Because the App does not upload your documents, there is nothing to retain on our side. Firebase Analytics data retention is configured to Google’s defaults; you can opt out of analytics collection by uninstalling the App.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., EEA, UK, California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we do not collect personally identifying information through the App, we are usually unable to associate analytics data with an individual. You can:

9. Security

We rely on Android’s app sandboxing and on Firebase’s transport-layer encryption to protect data in transit. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
